This October, new and existing customers were treated to a delicious ‘Alfresco Lunch’ demonstration by famous Cornish chef Gareth Eddy. Assisted by Fidelma Cleary of Vintage Ranges he demonstrated the unrivalled versatility, response and controllability of a Vintage Range.
Hosted by the long-established heating & plumbing contractors SAS & Trewartha’s, this inaugural Open Day for SAS & Vintage Ranges marked the association of the two great businesses to promote, install and maintain vintage cookers in the South West.
The true star of the show, a ‘Vintage Trio’ three oven cooker-only model runs from a 20 litre jerry can of kerosene with a partial flue. “It’s so clean, efficient and controllable” commented Sean Smith, owner of SAS.
“We have a Rayburn at home and I have given up trying to cook on it! The Vintage is just fantastic. So easy to use, I have never had such huge ovens and hotplates to enjoy cooking on before” exclaimed Gareth.
Presenting many culinary delights and sharing suggestions and tips to the many customers gathered around him, Gareth hinted that he has many new ideas up his sleeve, designed to bolster Cornwall’s prominence in all matters culinary. So watch this space!
John Cleary of Vintage Ranges and Sean Smith announced their own Future Visions for both their businesses, promising an ambitious and ‘truly unique spectacle” at next year’s Royal Cornwall Show.
“With all the exciting developments taking place in our businesses, we are establishing a manufacturing base in Liskeard. I am very fond of the south West and Liskeard has served me well in the past” said John. “I have updated and improved on my original Cornish range cookers and we shall supply these, as well as our superb Vintage Ranges, from Liskeard. We can’t wait.”
